"Astoria," The Pilot (and other news)

Over the past six months or so I've shifted my focus toward film and television and the universe seems to be responding kindly. I've just returned from the first table read, so I think it's safe to announce that I will be shooting my first pilot in the next few weeks! Per the treatment: "'Astoria' is a half-hour, single camera comedy set in Astoria, Queens, about young, creative people with big plans, no cash, and varying levels of actual talent." I will be playing Benigna "Benny" Tortorici, "a dancer whose parents seem to be wealthy." I'll take it.

I will also be participating in (at least?) the first phase of NBC's diversity showcase, and then will return to my classical roots in August when I will play Miranda in The Tempest  at The Tank in NYC.

On the up and up!
